【摘要】:Thepurposeofthisguideistoprovideremediationmanagersandspillresponseteamswithguidanceonanalternatemeans(calledbioremediation)oftreatingoilspillssafelyandeffectivelyonandbelowterrestrialsurfaces.Bioremediationisoneofmanyavailabletoolsandmaynotbeapplicabletoallsituations.ThisguidecanbeusedinconjunctionwithotherASTMguidesaddressingoilspillresponseoperations,includingGuideF1481,aswellasoptionsotherthanbioremediation.1.1Thegoalofthisguideistoproviderecommendationsfortheuseofbiodegradationenhancingagentsforremediatingoilspillsinterrestrialenvironments.1.2Thisisageneralguideonly,assumingthebioremediationagenttobesafe,effective,available,andappliedinaccordancewithbothmanufacturers''recommendationsandrelevantenvironmentalregulations.Asreferredtointhisguide,oilincludescrudeandrefinedpetroleumproducts.1.3Thisguideaddressestheapplicationofbioremediationagentsaloneorinconjunctionwithothertechnologies,followingspillsonsurfaceterrestrialenvironments.1.4Thisguidedoesnotconsidertheecologicaleffectsofbioremediationagents.1.5Thisguideappliestoallterrestrialenvironments.Specifically,itaddressesvarioustechnologicalapplicationsusedintheseenvironments.1.6Inmakingbioremediation-usedecisions,appropriategovernmentauthoritiesmustbeconsultedasrequiredbylaw.1.7Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Inaddition,itistheresponsibilityoftheusertoensurethatsuchactivitytakesplaceunderthecontrolanddirectionofaqualifiedpersonwithfullknowledgeofanypotentialorappropriatesafetyandhealthprotocols.
