【摘要】:Fueloxidationandotherdegradativereactionsleadingtoformationofsediment(andcolor)aremildlyacceleratedbythetestconditionscomparedwithtypicalstorageconditions.Testresultshavebeenshowntopredictstoragestabilitymorereliablythanothermoreacceleratedtests.SeeAppendixX1forinformationonthecorrelationoftestresultswithactualfieldstorage.Becausethestorageperiodsarelong(4to24weeks),thetestmethodisnotsuitableforqualitycontroltesting,butdoesprovideatoolforresearchonstoragepropertiesoffuels.Becauseenvironmentaleffectsandthematerialsandnatureoftankconstructionaffectstoragestability,theresultsobtainedbythistestarenotnecessarilythesameasthoseobtainedduringstorageinaspecificfieldstoragesituation.1.1Thistestmethodcoversamethodforevaluatingtheinherentstoragestabilityofdistillatefuelshavingflashpointsabove38176;C(100176;F)and90%distilledpointsbelow340176;C(644176;F).Note18212;ASTMspecificationfuelsfallingwithinthescopeofthistestmethodareSpecificationD396,GradeNos.1and2;SpecificationD975,Grades1-Dand2-D;andSpecificationD2880,Grades1-GTand2-GT.1.2Thistestmethodisnotsuitableforqualitycontroltestingbut,ratheritisintendedforresearchusetoshortenstoragetimerelativetothatrequiredatambientstoragetemperatures.1.3AppendixX1presentsadditionalinformationaboutstoragestabilityandthecorrelationofTestMethodD4625resultswithsedimentformationinactualfieldstorage.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
